Ohio is the 34th largest state in the United States by size, but is also is the 7th most populous state, making the demand for healthcare and medical services very large within this area. According to the United States Census Bureau in 2002 there were 168 community hospitals located across the state, providing many opportunities in employment healthcare. Ohio continues to be one of the states that also provides leading research within the medical field.

Employment healthcare, Ohio cities and rural areas included, is not just limited to doctors, nurses and researchers. There are many different non-clinical positions that can be found within listings for employment healthcare. Ohio hospitals, long-term care facilities, hospices, outpatient treatment centers and clinics require office managers, business staff, sales and marketing professionals, accountants, attorneys, human resource professionals and administration professions. Some less often considered positions also include billing and coding professionals, liaison and public relations people as well as community outreach and public health professionals. The wide range of employment healthcare, Ohio and other locations areas of the United States, makes this an ideal employment situation for almost any type of professional.

As for any state or area non-medical positions, employment healthcare, Ohio jobs with hospitals and other healthcare positions can be found in several different locations including the internet, through professional journals and publications, through union postings and through internal memo's and job vacancy listings. Using any of these services will assist prospective job seekers in determining if they have the qualifications needed to apply for the jobs and what, if any, positions are available.

Using one of the employment healthcare recruiters or agencies can also help with narrowing down the job search to not only specific types of positions but also benefits offered, hours of work, and even retirement plans or other details that the job seeker is interested in. There are several Ohio based healthcare employment services that can provide full or part time employment or can even provide on-call or PRN healthcare professionals. For those new to the area it is sometimes very advantageous to work as an on-call medical staff member, it allows contact with various hospitals on a temporary basis, ensuring that the hospital is a good match for the employee. It also allows people new to the area to find out about commuting to the hospital from their living location as well as different specialized hospitals and clinics in the area. Since there are so many options for employment healthcare, Ohio and surrounding areas this on-call option may be ideal.
